Sleeper Pitchers

Arms are always nice to have in salary cap fantasy baseball, especially when a few high draft picks end up being duds. Everyone is always looking for solid value late in drafts to take advantage of. So which players look the best with 2013 right around the corner?

For starters, Adam Wainwright should be back and ready to go after getting back in the swing of things in 2012. His numbers were subpar after his Tommy John surgery, but not the former star pitcher should be back in solid form.

Although his 14-13 record with a 3.94 ERA does not turn a lot of heads, he was a better pitcher in the second half of the season. He was also the second best pitcher in the National League the year before he went down with an injury. All signs point to him being back to normal this season, which makes him a strong option for salary cap fantasy baseball owners.

Tim Lincecum is another former star pitcher who fell on hard times in 2012. He moved to the bullpen in the playoffs, but make no mistake: the Giants are using him as a starter in 2013. Many salary cap fantasy baseball owners were burned by him in 2012, but now is the time to get him for a discount in 2013.

Lincecum is one of those players who are nearly impossible to hit when things are going well. He has several out pitches that he relies on, and things just seem to go really well for him when he is at his peak. If he can get back to finding the strike zone, the still young pitcher can be Cy Young quality once again.

Brett Anderson is one of the more undervalued pitchers in baseball, and he continues to be by many salary cap fantasy baseball owners looking for a solid pitcher. It is amazing to see such talent largely go overlooked, but that is what happens when you are a pitcher who has had success in small markets. He might be one of the top steals in the draft this year for teams that need arms.

There are always going to be steals in each draft class, so the best thing to do is just keep an eye out for undervalued players. They are definitely going to be out there to snag up, so do not let them slip out of your hands and things will be more than fine.
